Sterling Airlines Signs Aviareps To Run Uk Operations

The largest low-cost carrier in Scandinavia and fourth largest in Europe, Sterling operates daily flights from Gatwick to Copenhagen and Billund, and services from Edinburgh to Copenhagen. In addition, it provides more than 100 departures a week in peak season from points in Spain to Copenhagen, Oslo, Stockholm and Helsinki.

Announcing the new agreement in London this week, Niels Brix, Sterling’s vice-president, said: “The main benefit to Sterling is that we can now concentrate management focus on running the airline operations and commercial activities in our home market, while out-sourcing our overseas commercial activities and administration to a specialist company operating from the same address and with the same experienced personnel.”

Aviareps, meanwhile, has been able to expand its central London operations with the acquisition of Sterling’s ground-floor shop-front with six staff in Grosvenor Gardens, Victoria – near its existing office in Hobart Place. The new location is in a prominent position just a few minutes’ walk from the Gatwick Express and the District Line link with Heathrow.  This will enable customers for several of Aviareps’ client airlines – including six flying from Gatwick and three from Heathrow – to have access to a central London ticket sales point and walk-in customer service office.

In a separate agreement, the company has also been appointed gsa for Sterling Airlines in Spain. Aviareps’ joint chief executive Bill Roff said: “This appointment by what is seen as an innovative and substantial low-cost carrier – in two of its most important overseas markets – is a strong endorsement of Aviareps’ reputation for being able to adapt our business model to the fast-changing needs of the airline industry. The role of the airline gsa is evolving into an ‘a-la-carte’ provision of specialist management services, www.sterling.dk

Sterling, The First Nordic Airline To Have Its Own Travel Portal

Fly Europe for less: Sterling, Europe’s fourth-largest, low-cost airline, will be going on air on Thursday 2 March with a new and more user-friendly website which will make it possible to book hotels, car hire and concert tickets together with the airline ticket.

Sterling is launching a new and improved website on Thursday 2 March, which will make it even easier for travel-hungry Scandinavians to go on holiday. It will now also be possible to book hotels and car hire when purchasing an airline ticket, all together, as part of the same booking. This will allow Sterling customers to buy their entire holiday in one easy and hassle-free transaction.

The philosophy behind Sterling’s improved website is simple: It should be easy and inexpensive to go on holiday and, using the new search functions at www.sterling.dk, guests can tailor the trip to their own requirements, no matter where they are going or how long for.

“A lot of time and attention has been given to the layout and user-friendliness of Ster-ling’s new website, to ensure that it is simple and easy to see how to book a trip with a hotel and car,” explains Sterling’s communications manager, Niels Brix. “We have also taken this opportunity to make our website far more inspiring, with beautiful and enticing photography depicting Sterling’s destinations, both when logging in to the website and throughout the booking procedure.”

The new Sterling concept, which will initially include SterlingHotels and SterlingCars, has come into being through a collaboration between Sterling and travel giant Trave-locity Nordic, which has shared its vast product expertise regarding hotel reservations and car hire etc.

Sterling will continue to develop its website for the benefit of its customers and, be-fore long, broaden the new concept and the website with the addition of yet another revolutionary new feature, SterlingEvents. This new search function will provide an overview of what’s on at the holiday destination and make it possible to book tickets to musicals in London etc. from home.

In 2004, Sterling carried 1.825 million passengers and had a turnover of DKK 1.613 billion. In September 2005, Sterling merged with Maersk Air, giving the company a total staff of more than 1,600 employees and a fleet of 30 aircraft of the types Boeing 737, 800, 700 and 500. Sterling has its headquarters in Copenha-gen and is owned by the Icelandic investment company FL Group.

Full Speed Ahead For Sterling In 2005

Fly Europe for less: Europe’s fourth-largest low-cost airline demonstrated significant growth in a year characterised by tough competition, takeovers and mergers. At the same time, Sterling is launching a new profile in a large-scale low-cost campaign.

Sterling has taken wing again in 2006 with renewed optimism. After experiencing steady growth in passenger numbers throughout 2005, Sterling concluded the year after having flown a total of 2.725.125 passengers around Europe for less.

”The cabin factor for December is satisfactory, but as a result of the merger with Maersk Air we cannot compare the figures with those from last year,” explains Sterling’s Communications Manager, Niels Brix. ”But there is no doubt whatsoever that Sterling is enjoying growth.”

”Sterling’s goal for 2006 is to consolidate the route network to strengthen its position as a leading low-cost airline. Sterling is also expected to show a profit in 2006, and that will be achieved by the turnaround we are undergoing now in connection with our corporate integration,” adds Niels Brix.

”As a result of the merger, Sterling has become large enough to divide its activities into two categories: business and leisure,” explains Sterling’s Communications Manager Niels Brix. ”We therefore found it necessary to develop a new profile to be launched during our new campaign starting 18 January.”

”We will be developing our traffic programme in a significant way over the course of the year, and much of this entails expansion of the most popular business routes so that we may offer up to two departures each day,” explains Niels Brix. “The first round will include Berlin, Amsterdam and London.”

In 2004, Sterling carried 1.825 million passengers and had a turnover of DKK 1.613 billion. Danke & Gruss,Sami-------------- nächster Teil --------------package Kernel::Config;#package Kernel::System::Auth::LDAP# --sub Load { my $Self = shift; # ---------------------------------------------------- # # ---------------------------------------------------- # # # # Start of your own config options!!! # # # # ---------------------------------------------------- # # ---------------------------------------------------- # # ---------------------------------------------------- # # system data # # ---------------------------------------------------- # # SecureMode # (Enable this so you can't use the installer.pl) $Self->{SecureMode} = 1; # SystemID # (The identify of the system.
