1.  Remember the t-shirt contest.. I won.. well we.. (me & anthony).  The gift is actually $25 gift card for Qualcomm store.. so I told him don’t worry about the gift.. knowing that we won is already good.  Since I was kinda not sure since we came up with 3 design concepts and they pick the Matrix idea (which actually kinda old.. since Matrix been overused alot).  So here’s the t-shirt design.. but there will be couple changes since the logo need to be match with the company standard logo.

Screw (and The Bigger Lesson)

I thought I was cursed when I was trying to put the new battery into my pocketwatch/keychainwatch and dropped one of the screws putting back together. 10 minutes of searching ensues. Out comes the minimag. Out comes the manget-on-a-stick. No luck. F that. I finally sit down having given up and take one more look down to find the screw right where it should have dropped, grinning at me. As always, the moral is - don’t stress it, pretend like you don’t care and the bully gods will just let you proceed on course. If you get pissed you’re liable to break some more stuff.

My High School Chemistry teacher Gary Bobbitt told the class a story one day about his experience caving where he was exploring a little shaft the got tighter and tighter and eventually curled up around a bend and dead-ended. Try as hard as he might he could not back his way out. There was nothing to grab. No way to gain purchase. His arms stuck in an awkward position. His legs probably treading mud. Eventually panic set in - thrashing, high heart rate, hysteria and all the fun that comes with a bit of an adrenaline rush. After he settled down he gave up, regretted having to die in a cave, and sobbed some tears of sorrow. Next thing he know’s he opens his eyes in he’s back in the main chamber where he started. All he needed to do to get out was relax and not stress it and his body was able to slide right out.

That story’s stuck with me for a long time. I’ve seen this work out so many times. If your shit is just stuck in a jam and you see no way out, have a good cry and give in to the pressures and you’ll slide right through to the light on the other side.

Player is sweet like that. I just stick in the Anthology of American Folk Music disc, hit shuffle and I cruise and cruise. I haven’t found a good time to sit down and listen to this collection of great songs - hiking was perfect. I don’t feel lazy for sitting around the couch for hours and hours - I’m getting wholesome exercise while taking in some new tunes.

Another great addition to my hiking style is the pan flute. I got my pan flute waaaay back when I was maybe six of seven years old, an old boyfriend of my mom’s used to go play around the cavernous churches around Augsburg, Germany and he gave me a pan flute and invited me to come play a few times. I’ve kept the flute in my car for about a year now hoping to play while on road trips but I always get so light headed and it really distracts me.

Hiking was great for playing it. As long as I was not out of breath doing a steep climb It was a great pleasure to play around on the flute. I’m an amateur by all means but I had a great time and got lots of big smiles from fellow hikers. It projects a great token of positivity, exactly like the legendary I AM HAPPY (hey, I know that fucking guy) sign, except different.

Got off the trail early and proceeded to shoot some disc golf with the remaining light - I had shot six above par on the course the last two times I played - this time I shot even. I guess I’m getting to know the course and getting back into knowing my discs. It’s been a while.

My Self-summary

Hmm.. whats there to say about me? Well, im a pretty normal guy, low key, bluntly honest, funny, kind, caring, dedicated and shoot straight from the hip. Alot of people think they have me figured out only later to be left scratching their heads. My friends describe me as being one of the most complex people they know, with many different layers and fascets. I'm pretty shy and reserved at first, but after i get to know people I open up.

Some of my friends thought i would end up doing cartoon voices when I grew up. I have always been able to do voices and imitations of people, and sometimes will ship out some quotes from movies, or the simpsons or SNL. Other than that my humor can sometimes be dry, yet intelligent. I do have a sharp mind and wit, and its always good to meet people who are the same way.

I can be stubborn at times (thats the German in me). One of my faults is being an only child -i was really spoiled by my parents. Then again, it was a blessing in disguise. I now know, since I am on my own that I have to work to get what i want in life, and since there are alot of things I really want, I bust my ass to get alot of the things I have and enjoy. I have learned through my experiences that if you want somthing bad enough, you can make it happen, no matter what it is, as long as you work hard enough. Im a really hard worker, and give everything my all.

I'm a huge fan of music, love baseball, especially the Cleveland Indians, not a huge football fan, but will always follow the Browns, I love motorsports especially WRC, endurance racing (like the 24 hours of Lemans) and Formula One. I also enjoy working on cars, and working around the house sometimes. It's a good way to just escape from the world and to zone out. I also like photography.

I love to travel, and have been to just about every state in the union (well ive been to about 40 of them). Usually when I travel I go on road trips. Sometimes I fly, but I like road trips alot better; its not just about the desitnation, but its about the adventure you have along the way. One of these days I will have to go backpacking in Europe, probably after i graduate from college.

I also love dining, going to coffie shops & wine bars. Usually when I go out though, I prefer smaller, more intimate places, and some times dives, as opposed to clubs and heavily crowded trendy places. Sometimes the trendy places are OK, but generally I like low key places that are more intimate and frendlier.

Visiting Australia?

I have a friend who is in Australia for a year and i am considering visiting her for about 3 weeks. Do i need a visa? Do i need to keep lots of money in my bank account? (i don't mean for the flights and spending money) and if i go now for three weeks am i allowed to go back again when i want? I know that if you go work for a year you can only do that once, but if i have to get a visitor visa can i go back numerous times for holidays etc?
